What a 1 minute test does and does not tell you

A minute is not long enough to show whether you can sustain a pace. Plenty of people who test well at one minute slow noticeably by minute three.

  • This is the number to quote if someone asks how fast you type.
  • Take it at a pace you can hold, not a sprint: the score counts only correct characters, so errors cost you twice.
