A keyboard is a fixed piece of geometry, and your hands learn it the way they learn any other physical layout. The bumps on the F and J keys exist so that your index fingers can find the home position without your eyes. Once that anchor is reliable, everything else is measured from it.

Notes on this level

What this level is training

This level does not introduce a new key. It drills the left pinky, right pinky, right thumb, right middle, left middle, right index, left index, right ring, left ring fingers on keys you have already met, at a target of 37 words per minute and 94.3% accuracy.

Speed at this stage comes from removing hesitation rather than from moving faster. If your accuracy is above the target but your speed is not, the gap is almost always time spent deciding, not time spent pressing.

Most difficulty at this stage is technique rather than effort. These explain the technique.
